: : : : : Ayanna Clark did not graduate last year but I've heard she is repeating her senior year and is set to graduate in June. Have also heard she will be able to accept her USC scholarship and Trakh in fact recommended she stay in school for another year.

: : : : : I really hope all this is true because she is a supremely talented player and a nice girl. I also think USC is the place for her because she'll be close to family but the school will keep an eye on her academics.

: : : : She is going to Central AZ JC next year.

: : : Why didn't Clark graduate from Poly last year? She had a 2.0 GPA?? I mean she played all season for Poly if she didn't graduate then Poly needs to step up and forfeit all of their games two years ago and the year prior where Clark played. It is time to hold schools accountable for playing kids with bad grades. It is truly sad that Coach Buggs and the administration at Poly had to cheat to win. Especially sad that Coach Buggs had to cheat Ayanna Clark out of being held accountable and teach her there is more to life than just basketball. But instead, he kept playing her and Poly kept forging her paperwork to keep her eligible. Coach Buggs and everyone at Poly should step down for this horrible display of using a kid like that. Such a shame that nothing will happen because Poly is the cash cow for the Moore League and for CIF. Anything Poly does wrong will just get swept under the rug and the school district and CIF will pretend it didn't happen.

: : : Clark shouldn't go to USC, she needs a school and a coach that will help her and surround her with people that actually care about her. Central Arizona is good start. But she needs to play at a small school with a coach that will have someone working with Clark to make sure she is doing well in school. Allow her to actually learn and grow as a person and not just throw her out there on a basketball court to win games. Clark is talented but if she goes to USC she will not finish school, she will drop out and she will never learn.

: : If she is going to Central AZ, my guess is she ends up at AZ. Barnes seems like the type that will make sure she takes care of business and gets her degree.

: Central Arizona is not in a huge city hub so the change of scenery will be a challenge for her, academically, athletically and personally. I hope she succeeds but I think Mt Sac would be more suited for her. Let's all wish her good luck and hope she proves the naysayers wrong. At this point, it's all on her, despite anything that happened in the past.

I don' know--getting away to a school where basically the only things to do are basketball and schoolwork might not be bad. If you look at the WBCA'S annual lists of programs with the top academic performance, the only Southern California teams Ventura and Cypress have been in the top 25 multiple times. The rest of those lists are populated with JC's that are mostly in small towns or rural areas.

Far less distractions, and far easier for coaches to ride herd on the players. That might be just what the doctor ordered for Clark. I hope so. I've talked to her and she seems like a really nice kid.
