: : : : : I know head coaches at public schools make their stipend which usually isn't much.

: : : : : I'm curious what a typical head coach at a private school gets paid?

: : : : Depends at school most private schools aren't that much. At ours it has been $2500 for the last 15 years. This past season went up to 3000. Most of the money goes back into the program after taxes of course!

: : : 20K if you are good.
: : : 25K if you are bad.

: : You get what you pay for, which is why private programs are superior over public.

: True. Pay for those players' tuition, books, etc does get them better players.

Even at private schools, the walk on coaches don't make that much (except usually football and boys basketball). As pointed out, you get a big advantage by getting better players through financial aid (different policy at each school) and usually better facilities.

Now, where the private school coach can make the big money is if they are also a teacher, because extra money can we moved around on paper to get them more.

For example, Camacho was a teacher at Alemany. He was taken care of. The coach at Oaks Christian is a walk on coach and only gets a stipend. Nygaard at Windward is also Associate Athletic Director, which is also another way to make sure she is compensated well.
