: : : : Can anyone explain who picks the ALL-CIF teams per division and how are they selected????

: : : Iíve had a few experiences that went opposite ways in regards to this. Early in our coaching not knowing what SCIBCA was we lost in the 1st rd but had one excellent, special player. We happened to lose in that round to the division coordinator and at the end of the season we were told our player was named 1st team without us being a part of the vote. Our player had impressed the coordinator so much he spread the word in the division of her talent. Unfortunately that was my only feel good story in the process. Another year we had a league MVP, won a 1st rd playoff game easily and then our girl was not selected to either team even though we nominated her and I strongly feel it was because we were not SCIBCA members. The team who we easily beat in the 1st rd and whose coach was heavily involved in SCIBCA had a 1st team kid. Now Iím a member of SCIBCA and vote in the process. I vote for any kid who I think is deserving regardless of their coaches affiliation with SCIBCA but I know in our division their were coaches who only voted for other SCIBCA members players and better (more deserving) players lost the vote count. It sucks sometimes but when coaches vote they arenít perfect and every year some kid gets left off.

: : Think whatever you want, but there's only 10 first team members selected and 10 second team. There's 40+ teams in every division. There's 8 quarterfinalist teams so they normally would get one each. There's four Semi-finalists so they normally would get another one. There are two finalist teams so the Champion would normally get another two and the runner up another one. Adding all those up and you have 15 players so there's five spots left usually for the other 8 teams that only won a first round game, but lost in the 2nd round.

: so how do you explain teams who did not make the playoffs receiving a player on the All-CIF team (SCIBCA member) over teams who won a playoff game (non-SCIBCA member)?

I feel a little differently. I see coaches who are an active part of CIF voting and SCIBCA getting CIF MVP and 2 others on first team and another girl on 2nd team? 4 of their players on the all CIF team? Coincidence GLENDORA? There are 3 of those girls who should not be on that list.
