: : : :
: : : : : : The Pac went to 12 in 2011, the same year Close started. That meant at least four more games a season, with Utah and Colorado.

: : : : : No, I used the winning percentages alone based on 33 games per year.

: : : : : Recruiting.

: : : : : Walt's Dog

: : : : Olivier was a great recruiter as well and she won the Pac as well as the conference tournament which Close did not with her #1 class.

: : : : You were more fun when you were getting mopped up about how successful the WNBA was.

: : : What's not what I said?

: : : You're bent on making the case that Close and Olivier are equal. The winning percentage doesn't bear that out.

: : : Walt's Dog

: : I said Close also got to the Elite Eight but also won the conference championship and the conference tournament. If you're going on plain winning percentages, Caldwell was better than either.

: : And since you so often dodge the question, what is it that makes Close such a defensible coach. We know you keep going on and on with discussions simply because you're too little to admit you were wrong, but that was a simple and straight forward question. Why is Close such a fine coach in your eyes. There have been numerous observations about what people have felt she does wrong. What does she do right?

:
: Where do I start. Coach Close is committed to the school community and knows the student dynamics. She genuinely and deeply cares about the athletes she coaches. She's educated in the sport and can effectively communicate ideas to her players.

: She is organized and committed to values of education, family and maintaining integrity and diversity. That pretty much sums it up. If that's not enough then nothing can be said that will satisfy your need.

Anything that actually has to do with X's and O's?

Everyone has stipulated she is good at all the stuff you said.

The questions is what makes her a good BASKETBALL coach.

Offensive and/or defensive schemes? In game adjustments? Game planning?

These are the things I see as lacking in her tenure.
