: : : : So they won finally won a big game after dozens of loses. Just proves the Coaching was bad.
: : : Sooooo, them getting to the Elite 8 proves that she is a bad coach? If they make it to the Final Four should she be fired on the spot?
: : : Walt's Dog
: : If they don't make the final with that team it's the Coaching.
: Again, if they make it to the Elite 8 they are supposed to with THAT TALENT. If they don't make it to the Elite 8 its the coach. So basically like I said about this site....Its a no win situation and a bashing regardless. Your an idiot
It's "you're" not "your". Not a good mistake to make when you're calling someone an idiot.
And the observation is valid, like it or not Close groupies. This #1 class has underachieved all four years. Even this year, they didn't win their conference or their conference tournament. Right now, Billings and Canada have put the team on their backs and are doing some spectacular circus like shots and rebounding. It does not exist within a disciplined offense or defense. That's coaching. Right now, Schaweffer of MSU is miles beyond Close as he actually believes in plays, discipline and adjustments. But his team isn't as inherently physically and athletically talented as UCLA. But that was also the case with Oregon and OSU. As much as I love Canada, she's still playing a wild and undisciplined game. It can be fun to watch and is very exciting but it's very inconsistent. It can work against a similarly athletic and poorly coached team like Texas but against Uconn and Dangerfield, it was obvious who was the smarter player and that was primarily because her skills existed within the framework of a system. Canada absolutely has not bought into Close's system, if she even has one. Seven years and I'm still not sure what her system is.
Will the talent and athleticism of Canada, Billings, etc. be enough to offset the coaching of Schaeffer and the balanced development of MSU? Game day is today.
