: : : : Anyone see the game? That’s a big upset for the #2 seed. I was sure we’d see a rematch with Redondo Union. The #15, #11, and #12 seeds all won in D2 tonight.
: : : : This is the first year in a while that Southern Section didn’t send any open division teams to state D2.
: : : I was at Lynwood game. I must say that it was painful to see Lynwood lose that game. They were up thru out the entire game until 4 minutes were left. One of there Key players went out in the 3rd Quarter and came back with 3 minutes left in the game. By then, she was no factor. It seems to me that Lynwood did not play with any urgency at all. I think they thought that they had already won the game. Lets give the other team plenty of props. They stuck to there game plan and stay in the zone on defense. I believe the coach figure out that Lynwood can't shoot from outside. They were terrible from outside. Lynwood has one of the best coach in High school, yet he couldn't motivate his team to play with any urgency. A very terrible lost!
: : That is a tough loss. Lynwood went from potential open division to losing in first round of division 2. Not a good game to let their guard down.
: I total agree with the statement above. Lynwood did not show the other team any respect. They thought they would just walk straight to the finals. I sincerly hope that this is a lesson to all teams. You have to play the game as though it's your last. Lynwood is a Div.1 school and to drop down to Div. 2 and lose tells me that Lynwood really doesn't have the talent they use to have. What a disappointed season!
I was a huge Fan of Lynwood from the past. Things has changed over the year at schools like Lynwood, LB Poly and Narbonne. They are no longer getting the top players from other schools. All the best players are going elsewhere. Even though the coach from Lynwood is one of the best to coaches around, he couldn't get his players to perform up to their talent. He is getting some players who simply shouldn't be playing. I will be the first to say, he certainly make something out of nothing with his group of girls. As for Long Beach Poly, I think they will rebound from this bad year. It's just to much talent in Long Beach for him not to get players. Last, Narbonne will always be in the playoffs. Problems is, they just won't win any major playoffs. Again, other school are getting the player that Narbonne once were getting. Last thing I want to point ou, t is that it's good to see other schools get an opportunity to play and win in the playoffs.
