: : Got to watch the Open Division Final this evening. Game was marred by lots of whistles and foul trouble. Refs don't understand its not about them. Let the girls play. Both ways. Nobody wants to pay all that money to see stars sit on the bench. Its like this every Final. The male official was the worst of the crew.
: : Windward played very well early, especially defensively. Osborne was the best player on the court and the scheme for Windward backing off both twins worked. Osborne is a wonderful product of Cal Sparks and GBL. Neither twin would take a shot outside the paint. So tough to see how these two have so much skill and haven't improved from the wing. I think they work with Nolan from Culver City and played club with Storm. Not sure why those coaches allow them to be so deficient. Hopefully they will improve their skills in College. They are going to UC Irvine. Windward guards besides Osborne weren't great either and combined for only one three. Post from HW played very well. I think she plays with Storm. It was an ugly game with two great coaches but not a great play. The Wildcats got it done. Hopefully both have a rematch in the Open State Final. Does anyone know how many teams they take?
: I thought the twins were going to Pepperdine, but anyway
: State Open Division is 16 teams total, 8 in the South region
: Breakdown last year was 4 from the Southern Section, 2 from San Diego, 1 from LA City and 1 from Central BUT it is up to CIF state, they can alter the number from each section to fill the bracket. Usually they will leave the 4 from Southern Section but then take 2 from one other section and then 1 and 1 but it is not set in stone which section they will take two from.
: btw last year the one representative from the Central was the South region champion in the Open
It is a 16 team bracket for the Southern Regional for a total of 32 teams for the State Tournament just like last year.
