: : : : : : Get St. Lucy's out of our league, they are horrible, serves no purpose for anyone for them to be in there.
: : : : : : They are 2 and 38 in league over 4 years, Mt. Sac area people are stupid not to get them out of there.
: : : : : : What good does it do anyone? We hate playing them, as it is a throw away game, just an opportunity for our kids to get hurt.
: : : : : : We would rather have a 5 team league than a 6 team league with them. We could schedule two other preseason games, or even have a rest before playoffs.
: : : : : : St. Lucy's should be in the Montview league.
: : : : : : There is no CIF rule that says the boys and girls team have to play in the same league!
: : : : : Yes this is what they should do for every league and make them competitive! Most leagues have been dominated by one or two teams every year.
: : : : St Lucy's doesn't have a boys team Damian does not have a girl team you know normally the boys varsity and the girls varsity play the same teams in League if the two are not together it may create a problem with the scheduling within a particular League
: : : Not true. La Salle boys team is in the Camino Real League while their girls team is in the Santa Fe League, and this is within the same school, Damien and St. Lucy's are different schools and there would be even less conflict as they have their own campus's and gyms.
: : : Along with that Pomona Catholic is with the two of them. They are actually in was is called a Tri-school association with Damien and St. Lucy's, So Pomona Catholic doesn't have to be in the baseline but is associated with Damien.
: : : I have never heard of a valid reason why they can't be decoupled.
: : It all comes down to 1 simple thing. Every league has a contract, once that contract is up they can request to be moved out. Perfect example is Ramona Convent, they were in the sunshine league and as soon as their contract was up they bounced out and went into the Horizon. It's on the admin to get them out.
: Not true, the mt sac area is all vote based. You can go to the Mt Sac area alignment website and see. Everyone votes. You can propose a realignment but you must get the votes. However, Chaffey unified is the largest district in the Mt. Sac region, thus they hold court with the most votes, you only get moved back if they are willing to vote it. St. Lucy’s can request it all they want but unless the other schools vote it they will remain there. The problem is they always want to have 6 team leagues and if SL leaves they need to replace them with another team and no one else wants to be in the baseline. Thus they keep SL/Damien there as they will never get the votes to have an alignment proposal accepted to move. This was how Glendora ended up in the baseline, a single school district has no power, you end up where you are put.
: If SL wants out they should petition CIF to go independent.
St Josephs in Lakewood is another case where the sister school to SJB doesn't want to be in the Trinity League-hence the TL is only 5 teams for girls. IMHO given location in time they would do well in BB, golf, tennis-not so much in other sports. Nice gym.
