: : ::So, I was looking through all the brackets today. And the one division and team that looked like a bad choice was in 3A Division - Oxford Academy as the one seed and the only team with a bye. Went through MaxPreps rankings of the top teams, records and teams schedules. How does a team that has a 3.4 strength of schedule (per MaxPreps), with no wins versus any good teams and JV type competition in their league receive the number 1 seed. The top 4 teams strength of schedule goes as follows. Oxford Academy (3.4), St. Mary's Academy (8.3), Beverly Hills (7.8), Flintridge Prep (6.8). Oxford Academy gets the only bye in a 32 team bracket setup. Somebody at CIF SS office must really like Oxford Academy. What is the scoop on Oxford Academy? Seen some film on them on YouTube from their playoff game loss last year against Valley Christian (4AA game) and they didn't look very good. And this year they were moved up.

: OA is good. They deserve it!

Once again the SOS junky thinks rankings should go by only who you played and not the results. You do realize when a team plays Windward, Serra, Mater Dei, or LB Poly that their SOS number rises despite their running score loss. The same computer program that you love to site for SOS has Oxford Academy #1 in the division. If you think their SOS number is so important by MaxPreps maybe you should consider that the same computer which gives you that number also thinks they are the best team in the division.
