: : Played against them early in season, seemed they had a couple of key injuries. They were pretty well coached for what they had available (no size, limited experience).
: First of all, he had a coach with club ties. His assistant. He ran a Burbank team. Still doesn't matter as a few came to ND but there is no financial help for girls basketball players.
: Second, Ask any coach in the valley and ALL will tell you he is not a good coach, but a great coach. He was beating Harvard Westlake regularly with half as much talent.
: Lastly, his demeanor has been the same while winning league and CIF titles. Thats his personality. You don't have to be in your face to be a good coach. There are many coaching styles. He has his kids well prepared in practice and runs great stuff. He doesn't need to be yelling all the time to do so. Your ignorance on this subject shows you you know very little about the game. Plain and simple, there isn't a coach in the valley (Not one) that gets more with less than Paul Gross. Not even close.
: The fact he runs clinics, had a coach with club ties, and still gets no help from the school means he is doing far and above what is asked. If I was putting in effort and getting no help from the school I would be frustrated. Period
He is a good coach and he does put in the work and effort. I know he runs clinics and I believe he or someone affiliated has started and is trying to start a club. I see the girls playing hard for him and they appear to respect and like him. His girls are well prepared and this year he has a couple more girls who play club.
No, my kid does not go to Notre Dame. We just play them each year.
My opinion - Quit bitching about the coaching on a message board. Most of the coaches know basketball and are very dedicated to their craft and to the girls they coach. And if you can't get your head around this, look at this job posting and tell me you would sign up at this pay.
