: : Do you remember Kody Burke and ND basketball ? That is the last time they were relevant. This program is irrelevant now. No talent and boring coaches who are set in their ways. This program which used to be part of the mission league competeting for league titles are in a league with bottom dwellers and they are losing!!
: : Time for a change? You think ? This is disgraceful!
: Paul is a great coach. There is no talent. He always gets the most of his players. He runs good stuff, his team always plays great defense. Give him any talent whatsoever and they always do well in playoffs. Its admissions which won't admit any players. None. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. The year he won with Burke all he had was her. Clueless poster.
I don't think he is a bad coach, but maybe it's time for a fresh perspective in that position.
I realize ND could care less about girls basketball, but that being said, it doesn't mean you can't try.
I see that he runs a clinic every now and then, but given the limitations on admissions (i.e. $$$), if he wants to be a good program he is going to need to put some work in.
Host a middle school tourney. Chaminade used to but they stopped. Get the kids on campus and give tours. ND is a great school with great facilities - athletic, arts, etc. The boys host one, so should the girls.
Start a club team. Hit up kids from local parks and grade schools and start a team. Have to start the pipeline.
If that is too much, find a valley club program and coach a team and make inroads that way.
Whenever I see ND at tournaments or summer/fall leagues, the coach seems bored and not engaged. He just sits there. You can't do that in girls hoops.
They get athletes in other girls sports without giving a ton of money, they can do it for basketball too. But it will take work.
