: : : : : : : : : Canyon better than MD!, you forgot to take
: : : : : : : : : your meds today!
: : : : : : : : : Okay, now here comes another person that says Canyon will beat MD and totally deserves to be in the open division. If they play in division 1 in the playoffs, that's also ok. I just want to let people on here know that Canyon has a good team put together. This is coming from a Ribet parent giving love to the Canyon team. I got my money on them over MD in a couple weeks.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : If the decision comes down to Canyon vs. MD when they have the meeting, my guess is MD goes Open. Again, the Open was created for this.
: : : : : : : Canyon for the most part gets the kids from their area, whereas Mater Dei draws from all over. Whoever gets that 8 seed is probably losing first round, so CIF will give Canyon a chance to win Div 1. Just my thought.
: : : : : : : I like how there's someone on her that vows to stick their neck out so much for MD too as much as there's someone on here that is doing the same for Canyon. We will see soon how that turns out when they play each other next week. Then we'll see more talk on here about the game. I'm not here to bash anyone. I'm sure Canyon and MD are two very good teams with excellent players and coaches. Good luck to both of them.
: : : : : : Let me take a stab at this. Canyon is not the same team as last year due to graduation. Last year's team, that's better than this year's team, wasn't an Open team but a 1AA. Even at 1AA (and better than this year) that team was only a runner up.
: : : : : So what the heck are you folks insisting that they should be in the Open this year when they were better last and wasn't an Open team? The truth is even at 1AA, they not going to win CIF. Ok, put MD or LBP up there instead.
: : : : : To the last post (parent). What kind of logic did u just use? Doesnít every team lost players to graduation just about every year? And canít player personnel improve from one year to the next? Iím looking at Canyon from a year ago and comparing to this years, and it seems that this yearís team has a better track record up until this point with some very good wins early on. Theyíve won a divisional tournament in the Nike, AZ and more recently at Burroughs. Max preps has them ranked at #14 in State, which is higher than MD and Long Beach Poly. Not saying that Max preps has the best formula, but it does have some weight. So last post, please tell me what logic you are using, please
: : : Canyon:
: : : LastYear < Open
: : : ThisYear < LastYear
: : : Therefore, Canyon of ThisYear is no freekin way an Open team. Ok, get off your pipe dream.
: : : Wow, parent. That formula you presented makes no sense to anyone but you. Makes me wonder what you do for a living. Why donít you tell me what team you follow so I can lay down the same formula for that team? Wow
: You first, which school your daughter plays for. Let me guess, Canyon?
: In case you must know, my daughter is now playing for CSUB. But at one point she played high school ball for Alemany. We in this area have much respect for good, classy basketball organizations such as Canyon and others as well.
