: : A little insight on the event: great, great games--terrific event with a food truck outside minus the usual security guys that do not allow you to bring food into the gym.

: : Regarding the games--HB beat SM--- SM is horrible--just bad and this was a difficult game to watch. Mark Keppel and Sonora went into OT. Sonora's best player fouled out just before the start of the fourth quarter but their freshman point guard played great aside from maybe four turnovers at the end. Mark Keppel ran some really impressive sets for its post players and that little point guard from Keppel had great vision and was able to create for herself. Redondo Union and Independence--hmmm underdeveloped players on Independence and Redondo as usual appeared to be very well coached. Mission Hills and Troy---Mission is usually well coached but the game was ugly to be honest. The girls from Mission Hills and Troy both played incredibly hard and a fan has to appreciate that--but there were periods of ugly basketball. Sierra Canyon and Etiwanda---this looked like a track meet, a ton of athletic and fast girls who just happened to be playing basketball. The coach from Etiwanda kept yelling out his one play--"TAKE HER" and Sierra Canyon exhibited a lot of one on one bball as well. It was exciting with all of the running but not so much from a bball standpoint. Regarding Windward and Etiwanda---best game of the day. This game was exciting from start to finish. LJCD was missing its best player due to injury but this LJCD was incredibly well coached. Both teams ran terrific sets and all of us in our seats were appreciative of that. This game, the best of the day, came down to one person - Charisma Mutha Fuc$%# Osborne---THE TRUTH!!!!!!! Perhaps best palyer in Cali at this moment in time---hitting threes off her own dribble, creating for herself, etc. etc. etc. The final game of the day featured Mater Dei vs. Fairmont Prep---well Fairmont has to get used to life without Cece Hall. Aside from Izzy Ohm FP did not have a lot of players accustomed to playing at the highest level. Mater Dei --had been less than impressive in recent games but last night against FP wow--I was pleasantly surprised with how well they played together. MD looked really good last night and one can see that although they still have room for growth--they are starting to gel and play better.

: MD looked umpressive because now they have a plate maker in Crocker. And it appears that her teammates accept her as their new leader. They will go far this year if they keep playing the same way.

Etiwanda's Coach was not yelling "take her!" That was a dad in the stands who was making everyone laugh. Etiwanda fell apart due to PG play especially down the stretch when SC was pressing. SC's soph PG made the difference when she was on the floor.

LJ might have gotten the W if they had Paopao who is their best player and one of the best players in CA. Windward looked disorganized and flat that day and depended too much on Osborn to carry them. Windward's best players are upperclassmen and they have very little in the tank for 2 years from now.

MD just looked sloppy beating up the little ones at FP. With the firepower they have it should not have taken so long to pull away. They are missing something. Let's see if Crocker fills the gap.
