: : : : : : : : : : : Now that pre-season is over and league is starting up, who’s top 10 in the area?
: : : : : : : : : : : 1.Glendora
: : : : : : : : : : : 2. Los Altos
: : : : : : : : : : : 3...

: : : : : : : : : : Here is my Top 10 in no particular order.
: : : : : : : : : : Not sure how far East and South you want to go.
: : : : : : : : : : The Top 4 are SGV for sure
: : : : : : : : : : 1. Walnut
: : : : : : : : : : 2. Los Altos
: : : : : : : : : : 3. Glendora
: : : : : : : : : : 4. Rowland
: : : : : : : : : : 5. Bonita (SGV?)
: : : : : : : : : : 6. Ayala
: : : : : : : : : : 7. Chino
: : : : : : : : : : 8. Claremont
: : : : : : : : : : 9. West Covina
: : : : : : : : : : 10. Covina

: : : : : : : : : : It's hard this year because a lot of the teams are down this year.
: : : : : : : : : : 8.

: : : : : : : : : Numbers 4-8 are in Pomona Valley, not San Gabriel Valley.
: : : : : : : : 5-8 might be Pomona Valley, but Rowland is consider SGV. Rowland had the Player of the Year last year.

: : : : : : : Not sure how much basketball these posters are watching
: : : : : : : this year, but Glendora is hands down the best team in the SGV... it isn't really even close..,

: : : : : : So beating up on a bunch of lower level schools constitutes a successful season so far? Your signature wins are Trabuco Hills and Rancho Verde. Let's get real. I think you will have some trouble with Ayala and Claremont this season. Karma has a way of biting you in the ass.

: : : : : Glendora is well coached and the girls are well disciplined, but they are soft, so we shall see. I think Palomares toughest teams will be Ayala and Glendora, but I give the edge to Ayala. Bench players on both teams are pretty solid. Claremont has been playing together for four years now, so maybe this is their year. South Hills and Bonita each have strong, solid players in Lamonea and Riggs, but is it enough? Not sure about Diamond Bar?

: : : : Glendora will have no problem with Ayala or Claremont

: : : No reason in arguing about Glendora. They are hands down the best team in the area. Plus, you're probably just arguing with their coach, who posts here quite a bit.

: : : Palomares teams are way down. No real challenges for Glendora. But they have yet to have a close game because of their cupcake schedule. We will see what happens in a close game.

: : The Glendora coach has done nothing but turn a program around, with the team getting better now for 3 consecutive years... He is not responding to this thread... Bash away, but the fact remains he is doing a great job. As for their league, Ayala is having a solid year, Bonita keeps getting better and played a tight one with Centennial, and Claremont has improved. So Glendora may face a few challenges in league, but they are the faves heading into league this week.

: : And part of the reason the schedule is down is because it is difficult to find games now that everyone pays attention to competitive equity...

: : Good Luck to all as we head into league play..

: I know you think the Palomares League will be tough, but Glendora won't lose a game. I actually predict that they will win every game by at least 15 points.

: And yes, the Glendora Coach has really turned that program around. Just don' forget who trained those 3 seniors when they were youngsters.

Wow - Lot of talk about the team. Let me address a few things.
1) I do post on here. I also always will identify myself. This is the first time I have posted on this thread. I post here generally looking for teams for a tournament or event we are hosting, or when I need games. I also post multiple times throughout our Christmas tournament and update the scores of those games. Honestly, I also read this board because like many of you, I am interested and involved in this world.

2) As for our schedule - well without getting into specifics, I have a stack of emails from schools that told me no, they don't want to play. There are also a handful of things that have gone into the tournaments that we played. Again, I will not get into anything specific here, but not everything worked out the way it was supposed to. We have played 17 opponents so far, and some of those teams in my opinion are pretty darn good. Whether you agree with that is entirely your opinion. I will not disrespect any opponent, but at this point I would have loved to go back in time and make some adjustments. We have lots of things to work on and we are still trying to get better every day at practice.

3 - I love the league we are in. There are great coaches and great players and great environments. Nothing and I mean NOTHING comes easy in that league. Any win is a good win, bottom line. The next 10 games will be tough.. for all of us.

4 - Lastly... I really don't care who gets credit for the positive things going on. To be honest, the only credit to what we have done falls entirely on the girls shoulders. They have put in the hard work to make themselves better. The girls from their youth days until now have done everything all their coaches (and they have had plenty of good ones from early days to now before I showed up a few years ago) have asked of them and then gone beyond that. These girls work so hard to be better, it's awesome to see. Every one in our program is an amazing kid that does things the right way, and I feel lucky to be a part of it. Win or lose , I am having a great time coaching them and they seem to be having a great time playing and that's what high school sports are supposed to be about.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to email me at adamnu@aol.com and I will gladly answer any questions you have.

Best of luck to everyone as league play begins for many of us this week..

Have a great day :)
