: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Did Sierra Canyon get a couple of transfers in the guard position? Saw their video on maxprep and didnít recognize their point guard.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Good luck this year.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : Of course. Many. the PG you speak of came from Marlborough

: : : : : : : : : : : : : :Sierra picked up a point guard from Marlborough and a 6'1" wing from Village Christian. Both are sophomores.

: : : : : : : : : : : : If she's such a GREAT coach why can't she develop homegrown talent? Any monkey can coach a loaded all-star team.........and these parents PIMP their kids to the highest bidder. Sad Sad Sad.
: : : : : : : : : : : : Hope their season comes to a quick end like their football team.

: : : : Komaki is a tremendous coach! Those sophomores were apparently unhappy with their high school choices as freshmen and looked to go elsewhere. DeJesus was set to go there the previous year. There are not "many" transfers on the girls team, just the two.

: : : : As far as developing talent, have you looked at her track record? Have you heard of a player at UCLA named Kennedy Burke? How about Cheyanne Wallace killing it at LMU? After this year, there will be others that are successful in college. Komaki had a hand in all of their development. Stop the hate...

: : : : : : : : : : : Gotta love these "fans" that say anyone can coach talent, but the same fans turn around and say the Ribet team will be doomed by poor coaching. Can't have it both ways "fans".

: : : : : : : : : : It's a free country, you go with what you feel is best academically and for your development.

: : : : : : : : : : Sierra has established a solid athletic program that is well supported by the school. Their academic is one of the best in SoCal, it's costly but you get what you pay for. As an athlete, you basically get the best of both worlds.

: : : : : : : : : Athletically it is a top school as the "recruit" heavily. Academically they are not on top. Harvard Westlake, would be a perfect example of best of both worlds. There a many private schools that have a stronger academic program and don't value athletics so much that they lower to dirty recruiting.

: : : : : : : : : When was the last time HW won CIF-SS of CIF-State???

: : : : : : : Sierra Cyn is in no way shape or form an academic institution. Its a playground for the wealthy and for former athletes kids as well as parents who want to feel like they have and are on par with elite athletes. Keep "pimp N" your kid and teaching her to bounce from place to place. Forget the values of perseverance, loyalty, hard work and commitment. HS athletics at its finest! At least they aren't hiding under the umbrella of a "CHRISTIAN" school like Village, Oaks, Chaminade and Alemany.

: : : : : : : Sierra falls in the top 20 at #18 of top private schools in the area out of 300+ private schools with an A+ rating and average class size of 10 students. That is not too shabby.

: : : The hate looks like it is with in the team not from out side some parents donít feel their daughter getting fair treatment

: : Its standard at these schools to have ZERO loyalty to the kids who have paid their dues and been committed for 2-3 years. They will continue to be pushed down the bench and given the role of CHEERLEADER. Said it before will say it again....if your daughter can PLAY and is 7-10 on the bench why would you want to be a "small fish in the large recruiting fish bowl" when you can be the MAIN player putting up BIG #'s at a smaller school. Its really a no-brainer. 5-7 minutes avg. 5points or playing the entire game, being a leader and averaging 15-20 points.

: : #playingtime-over-pompoms

: : Although it's Fall league and Team is so young, they are doing very well because the girls are playing unselfish and having fun together. The parents know this which is why they won't let an outsider try to stir things up for them. Keep your hate to yourself.

No hate. Know a number of the girls/women on the team; good kids, think Komaki is a very good coach. Wanted SC to win Open Division last year. But stop with SC being high academic institution. Should add Sierra Canyon and Windward to Mission League with Chaminade, Alemany and Harvard-Westlake (all of these schools offer reduced tuition to athletes). Would be great league and allow Crossroads, Campbell Hall, Brentwood, Viewpoint, Marymount, FSHA to compete for a league title once in a while. And please stop with the "need" based financial aid. Again, people and schools play all sorts of games to qualify as "need" based. Know many people who qualify and laugh about it; live quite well (travelling all the time; kids have cars; nice houses) but qualify for need based financial aid. Trust me, if your kid is 6'0 or taller, you qualify for need based at many of these schools.
