: : : : I severely question the lack of leadership by coaches and institutions for playing this game.
: : : : LMU aspires to compete for NCAA Div1 National Championships...at least I think so? Risking a season ending injury for a 50 pt victory over an overmatched Div3 school? After looking at the box score, LMU should focus on making FTs (42%) and reducing TOs (21). No bad soldiers, but bad leaders. Shameful LMU!
: : : Its called an exhibition. All teams play them. Doesn't count. Play everyone. The D3 schools love them because they get paid major money to play them. They are always the first game of the year or close to it. They also have a closed scrimmage vs a D3 school. On a Saturday that doesn't get published. Please be informed before you make stupid comments. ALL D1s play an exhibition. UCLA usually plays a Cal St San Marcos or a Cal St LA. Do some research before you post please.
: : :: UCLA (#1 PAC12) and Cal both played Vanguard and blew them out, played Texas State in exhibition/scrimmage. As the previous poster correctly noted, the D2/D3 schools love it. It's a chance to get paid well as well as play against some D1 talent. ALL D1 programs do this. #golions #gobruins #gobears
: Not Texas State. UCLA was down by double digits in the first quarter alone. So let them run up w/l records against inferior competition because they can't do it against the elite.
: The coach consistently recruits good athletes but doesnít know how to put together a cohesive team. This is why they under achieve year after year. Iíve got to believe there will be a change coming sooner then later..
