: : : : Now that fall ball is basically done...does anyone have info about the teams in the Pacific League?
: : : : Pasadena- Returns Everyone. Added some thicker posts. Jett does a great job. They are the favorites to repeat.
: : : : Muir- Awful. May not have a team. Embarrassing.
: : : : Glendale- May have the best player in the league in Jill Yanai. Coach does a great job. Will be in the mix
: : : : Arcadia- Puzzling team. I pick them every year to do well as they have more talent than the other teams. For whatever reason the coach doesn't do a good job. Never prepared. I like him but he should be in the hunt more often. Again, has more talent than everyone else but needs to do better in league
: : : : Burbank- Probably picked 6th. Has a very good player. Coach Wells does a good job but the league is very strong. They have a lot of size but are thin at the guard spot.
: : : : Burroughs- We know they are well coached. Will be huge on the front line. Not sure the guards can stay with other teams. We know the coach will have them prepared. Prob around 2-3. They play hard.
: : : : Crescenta Valley- My pick to win league. Well coached. Very deep team. Stud guard. They need to battle with Pasadena and Burroughs on the front line but nobody is deeper at the guard spot.
: : : : Hoover- Another who shouldn't be in this league. Just awful
: : : In all the league is 6 deep and solid. Will be a battle every night. It usually comes down to who can win the close games at the end in crunch time. Always does.. Will be fun.
: : This is a very weak league with weak teams. If they were any good, then they'd be in Division One
: First off..very good list...except that Pasadena finished second last year. CV won the league title. Second, only and idiot would call this a weak league. This league has sent a school to at least the semi finals four years in a row in either 2AA or 1A, with CV winning a title two years ago. This league is six teams deep easily. They may not have any open teams, but that doesn't make it a weak league.
Disregard posts with "no open or D1 teams means weak".
I have seen some of these teams play.
I would describe them as a whole as solid.
The good thing is there are 4-5 teams that are competitive with each other, so on any given night you have to play well to get a win. And that's what makes HS sports fun.
Much better than a league with one or two great teams and everyone else is not strong so you get two good league games a year and then a bunch of blowouts.
Good luck to all the teams!
