: : : : : I will give it a go. I am not intending to offend anyone. I watched a lot of basketball spring, summer and fall. My daughter graduated and I enjoy watching. I will probably be way off but here is my opinion

: : : : : Div 1
: : : : : Boy is this division strong. Its death row. Even after they take 8 teams out
: : : : : Teams to open- THIS MAY THE BEST TOP 8 EVER
: : : : : 1. LB Poly- Until someone beats them I am picking them
: : : : : 2. Harvard Westlake- even better than last year. Twins the real deal
: : : : : 3. Mater Dei- Rumor has it they have a whole new team. Haven't seen them
: : : : : 4. Sierra Canyon- I saw them this fall. They are real. Might be higher
: : : : : 5. Windward- Loss of post player might be addition by subtraction.
: : : : : 6. Etiwanda- Even new shady coach can't mess this team up
: : : : : 7. Alemany- New coach will keep them in Open.
: : : : : 8. Serra- Returns their whole team.

: : : : : Top 5 of rest
: : : : : Fairmont Prep
: : : : : Orangewood Academy (BIG DROP AFTER THESE 2)
: : : : : Millikan
: : : : : Rosary
: : : : : West Torrance
: : : : : Valley View

: : : : : Division 2AA (STRONG)
: : : : : 1. Redondo
: : : : : 2. Keppel
: : : : : 3. Los Osos
: : : : : 4. Mira Costa
: : : : : 5. Camarillo

: : : : : Others: J Serra, El Rancho, Lynwood, Norco, St Paul

: : : : : Division 2A (Other than Ribet not that tough of a division)
: : : : : 1. Ribet (Lucky they are only taking 8)
: : : : : 2. Antelope Valley
: : : : : 3. Arcadia
: : : : : 4. Glendora
: : : : : 5. Dana Hills

: : : : : Others: Arroyo Valley, Duarte, Thousand Oaks, 29 Palms, Upland, Village Christian

: : : : : 3AA (Might be a little stronger than 2A minus Ribet)
: : : : : 1. Lancaster
: : : : : 2. Pasadena
: : : : : 3. Ayala
: : : : : 4. Culver City
: : : : : 5. Viewpoint
: : : : : Others: Arroyo Grande, Crossroads, Covina, Irvine, Lawndale, PV, Rancho Verde, Valley Christian, Warren

: : : : : 3A (Balanced and weak. Big drop)
: : : : : 1. Flintridge Prep
: : : : : 2. La Salle
: : : : : 3. Beverly Hills
: : : : : 4. Moorpark
: : : : : 5. Chaparral
: : : : : Others; Eisenhower, Mission Prep, Oxford Academy, Pacifica Oxnard, Paloma Valley, Poly, Saugus,

: : : : : 5AA (No clue)
: : : : : 1. Grace Brethren
: : : : : 2. Mary Star

: : : : : Div 5A
: : : : : Cant even guess

: : : : Heard bell Jeff coach resign and all players checked out

: : : It's funny but check Rivets schedule they are ducking no one!! Play ball.

: : THe twins are the real deal??? just stop the bias opinion. they are ok player not real deal. Long beach poly is down just lost to etiwanda and alemany 2 weeks ago. sierra will be good. mater dei will duck everybody as usual.

: I agree, harvard westlake will finish 3rd in their league this year, the twins can't win on their own, their freshman won't make them better than last year.

1. As high school players, the Twins are the real deal. Few high school players can handle their physicality. Their lack of shooting ability does not hamper them at the high school level as they dominate boards and get put backs.

2. No way HW finishes third in Mission League. The question is can they beat Alemany? By the time league rolls around, HW will be better than last year. Frosh PG is better than one that graduated, just needs HS experience. Tall frosh will only be counted on to defend paint and get rebounds. She is tall and has hops.

3. Mater Dei is for real this year and will not duck competition. They will be competitive in Open Division. Torbert is hard to guard, and big frosh has several BCS D1 offers - including Baylor, Cal, USC, UCLA.

4. Do agree LBP is not as strong as last year, but I don't use fall viewing tourneys as a guide to their ability come November and December.

5. Do like Sierra Canyon. Payne is real deal. Supporting cast is solid. One transfer is really good, the other one from Village Christian is a decent role player. Big frosh will help on boards when she acclimates to HS ball.
