: : : : : : Did anyone see any games this weekend and how did open division teams do,Alemany,Mater Dei,Etiwanda,Chaminade, long beach poly?

: : : : : Etiwanda beat Alemany, LCJD, and LB Poly. Alemany beat LB Poly and LJCD

: : : : Many of the top teams were missing players - either to club teams or they were just not playing.

: : : : Archer didn't play for Alemany. I'm pretty sure St. Mary's was missing players. Chaminade didn't have their best player on Saturday and their big wasn't dressed. Looked like PG from Norco was playing for Wiggins, so unless she transferred, was it really LJCD?

: : : : Bottom line, my take away is Alemany, Etiwanda, and Mater Dei should be really good.

: : : : Chaminade is still good if not Open good, mainly because they have depth issues after starting 5.

: : : : LJCD is still very solid.

: : : : Long Beach Poly is still really athletic and will still be Open, but I don't know if they had everyone there. If they did, I didn't see a Jones/Clark level player.

: : : : Chaminade's best player is either Ayana or Alexis, if you think not then you don't know basketball.

: :
: : Alexis Whitfield is Chaminade's best player. She is the difference maker on that team with her height, rebounding, and scoring ability.

: : They were beating Mater Dei on Sunday and until she got knocked out of game. Then MD blew them out.

: : I'm not saying the other two are not good, or important to the team, but everything is built around Whitfield.

: I know for fact that Chaminade could have had a 6’ freshman that is as skilled and versatile as Alexis, which could have easily solved the depth issue. However Kellie seemed to express little interest. Shows that she doesn’t actively recruit herself but somebody dropped the ball.Too bad because that would’ve been a heck of combination.

Who are you referring to?

The only 6'+ frosh from Valley I know of went to Harvard Westlake.

And the problem Chaminade runs into all the time (though people don't believe it) is they don't give out that much aid unless you qualify for it.

And even if they give a "good deal", they are getting undercut by Sierras (cheap) and Alemanys (free!).
