I love these asinine comebacks..."sorry your daughter didn't make the top team. Oooh, you sound like someone who's daughter got cut."
Just face the reality of what southern CA girl's basketball is right now, and how the delusions of grandeur are erasing the necessary components of success at the "next level".
I'm a coach. I want girls to succeed. But instead I have girls who prioritise basketball #1 over school, community service, all around personal development. This leads to egocentric individuals, who play an egocentric game. Who don't understand the intricacies of a team game that I've spent 3 decades teaching.
It's a trickle down effect...Coach K is dealing with 1 and dones as are the majority of top level programs.
No one can argue that s.CA girls "top" clubs are putting out a poor representation of the game currently. Many of these girls with scholarship offers will not do as well as they've been taught to believe they will, and don't have the personal skills to build themselves up to that caliber because they all think they are already there. Then, the transfer train starts.
Sorry for the rant, but it's a sad state of affairs and the parents and children are both contributors, as are club runners, yes men/women, even high schools that are recruiting. My 31st season coaching HS and college is going to be my last, and I hope things change in the future.

: : Not a single club team from CA is of interest right now. Horrendous showing over the summer. Unfortunately, this is the trend as these aren't really "teams" at all, just girls with so-called talent thrown together with poor coaching by people grabbing for money.
: : No thanks.
: :Listen to you, so bitter. Sorry that your daughter didn't make the top team, lol
