: : : : My son is an incoming freshman and taking summer school but we are planning on having him go to another school once he is done with summer school. Will he have any issues being able to play right away?
: : : Per CIF incoming freshmen can attend any school that will not have a burden on his freshmen. Unless @ the summer school the coach is influencing your son to enroll there but other then you are good. Make sure you explore all of your options to ensure your son will be a good fit on both ends. As you are aware transferring schools is an epidemic today. So make the right decision for your son, and your son have be satisfied.
: : Thank you, My son does not like the coach at the school he is at right now and we have family at the other school where we are thinking of sending him where we know he will be more comfortable. We just dont want him to have to sit out if he happens to make the varsity team.
: If he has not dressed and played in a real game (regular season), then there is no problem transferring. The problems occur if you get to the point where the season starts, he plays even 1 minute and then you transfer... UNLESS you have a valid change of residence
Okay, yeah he has only played a little summer basketball and we want to get out of there as soon as possible. Do we need to tell his new school we transferred or does it not matter since hes never played in a regular game?
