: : : : I just got a call to film middle school games because the middle school programs out here are like a high school. All schools travel to others schools, have playoffs, and admission has only been $5. CA is very very very far behind in terms of developing players through the middle school process. Come out here and I'll buy you a drink. lmfao.

: : : Please stop posting here...we all are more than happy with you leaving the west coast.

: : Don't speak for all of us. I appreciated Popscout's coverage. Yes it had some flaws, but the effort was considerable.

: You do have it in southern CA-in the Catholic and private schools. Parochial Athletic League in OC plays home/home starting in 5th grade-with playoffs in the major divisions. Most of the Christian schools in south OC play in the PAL.

From someone who grew up and went to school in the South, there is no comparison. From middle school on we did not take PE classes, we were in athletic periods like the high school. For me it was basketball and football. Our coaches were hired by the varsity coach of those sports at the high school and the varsity coach was often at our middle school practices. We traveled and played the same league schedule as the high school team. We had cheerleaders and a band at home games. Of course, this was all made easier by the fact that the schools in the South are built correctly. My middle school had a gym comparable to the better high schools out here and my high school had 4 gyms on campus.
