: : : Prediction - its early of course but the Oakwood Gorillas (D-4) are going to have their best season ever. Better than when MItchell Butler was playing there. Oakwood has depth and they have a good young coach. Best kept secret in the East Valley is Oakwood's Big man, Aiden Oliver, who is averaging 29-30 points per game. They actually could win their conference and the southern sectional and then if all goes well, the State. (Bold prediction i know) Good luck Gorillas!

: : Props to my favorite team, beating Dana Hills today and winning their Rancho Mirage bracket 2019 Tourney. Oakwood won all 4 games and look good moving forward. I dont think they will lose another game this season. Loving it! Im going bananas!

: If there aren't any games on the schedule that you might lose, there's something wrong with the schedule. According to MaxPreps, Oakwood has 11 games left, 8 league and 2 nonleague vs Buckley, and one vs Pilibos.

: Most teams improve during the season, and usually do so by occasionally playing teams that are slightly better than them. If their 4A rivals are playing up, they could close the gap between now and the playoffs. Dana Hills, West Ranch, Campbell Hall, and Bonita have been the only such games for Oakwood thus far, and there aren't any more of those teams on the Gorillas' schedule. Hopefully Oakwood has scheduled a couple showcases that aren't listed on MaxPreps.

I dont think Oakwood has any games involving a showcase - etc. I checked their schedule as well and nothing is listed. I agree with you that playing higher ranked teams helps the team overall. The teams in their conference are not strong this year. So beating them is no big deal. But then again, a win is a win. I saw the Campbell Hall game which was played at Campbell Hall in front of a hostile full house crowd and Oakwood held their own - game was tied with 5 minutes left. CH ended up winning by about 10. Im not sure if Oakwood can "add" a tough team to their schedule now? I have no idea.
