: : : : : : : : : : : : What is going on at Huntington Beach? I see they are looking for frosh and JV head coaches and Tino Zaragoza is the contact person. What happened to Billy Thompson?

: : : : : : : : : : : He resigned a couple of weeks ago.

: : : : : : : : : : Thatís a jacked up time to resign as a coach! If itís not health related it shouldnít happen like that.

: : : : : : : : : Why not if he got a better opportunity? It's not like they're paying him even minimum wage.

: : : : : : : : It looks like Zaragoza is the new coach from what I've been hearing. I believe this is the same zaragoza that Starred at northwood HS under Obrien. I am not sure why Thompson quit I haven't heard anything about that.

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Scuttlebutt is HB held a parent, coach meeting. After a few kids were cut coach was roasted. I think he just had enough. Why stay at a HS with that type of demographic. You are dammed if you do and damned if you don't. Why do you think Luna left after having pretty successful seasons. Parents and Admin make it impossible for you to coach now. Its rare you see coaches stay at a school longer than a handful of years. Either they are forced out or they walk out.

: : : : : Luna was not a good coach. Wins don't make a good coach. Being a good person and mentor make a good coach. He was none of that.

: : : : : : : Coaching in HS takes a lot of Moxie, and a lot of support now a days.

: : : : : : Only carry 12 players and make sure playing time is about merit and team only. You reduce or eliminate the politics. Too many HS coaches play politics. You can buy them every year as it is passed around the communities the coach sells out to politics. Do it once, you are exposed. We all know who is who and who does what! That is if your eyes do not deceive you. Do they? Most do not have the love of the truth.

: : : : Easily said. Which high school program do/have you run. 12 players? Ha...and I assume you expect the district to pay for everything too.

: : : Thank you, Stupid post by that moron. Let me guess you are a former parent who has never been a head coach before right? Either way HB hasn't been good in years do we really expect them to compete regardless of the coach?

: : You can see the poster's after 29.5 are bad coaches or sell outs. Classic stuff.

: If I keep 12 guys, and the annual flu goes through and hits my team, I'm left with possibly less than 10 guys for practice.

: If I keep 12 guys and there are 2 kids who have been in the program for 3 years, did everything, and are happy being #13 and #14, you want me to cut them?

: It's about the kids, and with any parents there are politics. Whether it's sports or in the classroom, it exists. To think you can eliminate that is being naive. The point is to not let it impact your decision making.

: And there is no apostrophe in posters due to lack of possession.

Okay, I can see you point. Do you tell the 13 thru whatever they are on the team to fund it? That is the truth, right! I appreciate you teaching and coaching as long as it is as the subject should be taught. Illness happens yes. You never combine lower levels to do same drills such as 3 against 2 and then 5 coming back against 3 and so on? If you do not, that is not helping develop your program. Ok, I just gave you a nugget. Do you know how to squeeze blood out of a rock? I do.
