: : : : : : : : 1. Mater Dei
: : : : : : : : 2. Jserra
: : : : : : : : 3. Villa Park
: : : : : : : : 4. Sonora
: : : : : : : : 5. Tesoro
: : : : : : : : 6. Fairmont Prep
: : : : : : : : 7. Pacifica Christian
: : : : : : : : 8. Canyon
: : : : : : : : 9. Crean Lutheran
: : : : : : : : 10. Edison

: : : : : : : A decent list to start. I think 1-3 is a lock. 4-8 can beat each other on any given night. I struggle with Crean at 9 only because they graduated so much. I didn't see them during the summer so I can't make a better eval. Edison may not even be the best team in their league/conf.

: : : : : : : Some other teams to consider:

: : : : : : : Mission Viejo returns a lot and if Conerty returns well from his injury they will be tough.

: : : : : : : Northwood brings back good skill, but probably not enough depth to play a whole game. May not even be the best team in their league if Portola and Beckman put things together.

: : : : : : : Cypress has been a consistent winning program. They can't be overlooked with their pace and intensity.

: : : : : : : CDM has nice returning pieces, I think it boils down to whether their stud FB player decides to play his senior year.

: : : : : : : La Habra wins games, any new players show up there this year?

: : : : : : : Laguna Beach has been a topic of conversation among some coaches. No players graduated and they always run their stuff well. Haven't seen them, just relaying what I'm hearing.

: : : : : : : Does Santa Margarita go from a CIF championship to middle of the pack in one season? Didn't see them at all, just curious of what the word on the street is.

: : : : : : Private
: : : : : : 1. Md
: : : : : : 2. JSerra
: : : : : : 3. SM - they will be down but not worse than a San Joaquin team.
: : : : : : 4. Pacifica Christian
: : : : : : 5. Fairmont Prep
: : : : : : 6. Crean Lutheran - Couldn’t win a public school league and lost a lot.

: : : : : : Public
: : : : : : 1. Villa Park
: : : : : : 2. Canyon
: : : : : : 3. Sonora
: : : : : : 4. Capo Valley
: : : : : : 5. Mission Viejo
: : : : : : 6. CDM
: : : : : : 7. La Habra
: : : : : : About 10 schools for 8-10.

: : : : : : Side note Tesoro at #5 in the initial post is a head scratcher. I would argue they aren’t even the 4th best team in their 10 team South Coast/Sea View group.

: : : : : Yeah the highlanders got 2 new transfers who will start for them.

: : : : ; Edison got a good sophomore transfer from MD that will help. Keep an eye on them.

: : : Any Surprise teams????

: : : What about Buena Park for a surprise? Beatty will get guys and he's won a cif ring already.
: : - Winning CIF at a private school in a lower division is one thing. Winning at Buena Park is a totally different challenge. You will never “get” enough guys at a public school to win championships, you must develop the guys you have in a disciplined, fun, & competitive system.

: Missing one team. Los AL !!! They return a bunch and they had a lot of young talent last year. Tesoro will be down some, but coach looks like he's having more fun. CDM football kid(s) are not playing. They'll be down. Pacifica Christian isn't well coached, but they have talent. Segerstrom guard will make them tough to guard. Edisons transfer played for their JV coach. Wonder if that's undue influence that'll be looked into. Laguna Beach will sneak into the top 10. If the MV kid returns, they'll be tough. Capo is good as well. Public schools are average, but competitive. I heard Crean brought players in, but I haven't seen them. I like their guard that is returning and I'm sure Cypress will battle.

Will Los Al be better than Edison, CDM, and Newport Harbor?
