: This has been brought up,many.many times before
: throughout the years, the CIF doesn't want the
: private schools to form their own association because they would lose a third of their total
: operating budget, thus; have to lay staff off,
: probably have to find another administration
: building that has a lower
: lease agreement, lose a portion of sponsorships, equipment deals, TV
: I'm betting the private schools generate almost
: as much income for the CIF as do the
: twice (or more) as many public schools.
The poster is talking about leagues, not governing association. Nobody is arguing that the private schools should be out of CIF, the argument is that they should have their own division.
As for the league issue, they do have their own leagues. CVC and Fairmont play in an all private school league and of course there is also the Trinity league.
Nothing will fix everything. People argue that public schools which recruit should be placed in X league or division, so that would be the next topic. I see everyone saying how spoiled the kids are and how they are entitled and are given participation trophies, etc. Yet here we are, asking for the field to be made easier. We already went to a competitive equity formula for the playoffs, once they change the basketball process to where they are going with football (choosing teams after the season for divisions), then it'll be as fair as it can be in my opinion.
