: : : : : : There’s a meeting Monday with the school board so he may be re-instated. I think the bigger question now is where will his 6’8” incoming freshman son play if South Hills doesn’t let Pops be the coach?

: : : : : :???

: : : : I don’t think Gardner was a teacher at the school.
: : : I heard bad language. If that was the case a lot of coaches would be fired.

: : Y’all may hate, but that Covina Unified school board meeting was a “poop” show tonight. First off, Fred Robledo covered it live and made it out to be the second coming of Christ. Gardner called South Hills 15-15 season HISTORIC and ran well past the 5 minutes he was allowed. But the funniest thing to me was the kids who kept saying “Coach Gardner is my travel ball coach” and “because of Coach coaching me on travel ball I decided to go to South Hills”. They have no clue that that may be one of the exact reasons he’s in this position. They’re proving that he’s recruiting kids to go to South Hills. I mean I don’t care if he recruits or not but he obviously pissed off some parents who do care about him recruiting. Jelani’s speech was all about the kids and him wanting to be there for them, but what about the kids at Duarte, La Salle, and Blair that he left behind with no second thought?

: : Once again, I have no horse in the race and don’t care if he gets re-instated or not. But it was still a “poop” show!

: I think a lot of folks spoke on Gardners behalf tonight and deserves to be reinstated. I think this was a hasty decision that was not thought out.I say give him a chance to get this cleard up and return to coaching the kids. There were only a couple of parents who spoke against his return and they probably had kids on the team who were not getting playing time. Live is not always fair.

Honest question.. has he ever been a head coach for longer than a year? I looked on Maxpreps and it seems he was at LaSalle for a year, Duarte for a year and then Blair for a year. Sometimes karma comes back to bite you.
