: : : : : : : : : These jobs have been open for a while - has anyone been hired?
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Public Schools at their finest.

: : : : : : : The Foothill and Fullerton jobs just closed this past Friday on edjoin. Must first paperscreen the one or more rounds of interviews, there is a process, patience

: : : : : : Many open jobs in the San Gabriel Valley as well. Difficult to find coaches. Almost impossible for public schools to find really good coaches.

: : : : : Word is UCLA will be interviewing whichever coaches don't get these jobs.

: : : : What would a new coach have to do to become a good coach and how long should it take them?
: : : : La Habra coach had a Top 10 team in OC after second year.

: : : La Habra coach was the coach at Buena Park, and the top 2 players from that school transferred to La Habra; coupled with an already solid group that was at La Habra. Can he put a competitive team on the floor next season will answer whether he is a good coach.

: : : It takes a few years to build the program in your vision, and then from there it is maintaining the culture. A good coach doesn't necessarily have to win, but builds a program where the boys compete and run their stuff well. Then, when some players roll through, the program is in a great position to take advantage of it and win some games. I think a good example is Woodbridge. Halagan wins a lot of games when he has a few guys, but when he doesn't they still play their asses off and run their stuff, and are always in a position to take a game from a more talented opponent.

: : Thank you for the update, didn't know that about the La Habra coach. What about the Pacifica head coach, Friedman?
: Coach Friedman is a solid coach who gets the most out of his team. This year they won 19 games and last year 18 games. Pacifica does not have the overall talent that most of the Empire League has, but they are very successful. Beat some good teams this year including Capo Valley Christian by 20+, Crean, El Dorado twice among others.

As was mentioned with Halagan at Woodbridge, Friedman at Pacifica is similar. Been there a long time and they run there stuff well and are always competitive and play hard, so when they do have above average players (like the last few years)they do real well.
Ed Prange at Loara similar. Always solid. Good coach.Have a system. When he has better guys, they do well.
