: : : Western Christian really took it to Oakwood. Bryce White was probably the MVP of this game, but Martin (don't know his first name) was great on defense for the Lancers. Aidan Oliver had a big first quarter, but then just couldn't really do much as Western Christian doubled him on every possession.

: : : Oakwood's Aidan Oliver is a nice young player, but I don't think Oakwood should be planning on a State title just yet. Oakwood may not even make the state tournament if past years are any indication since in some years the State bracket hasn't taken the Division 5A runner up.

: : : Oakwood kept it close until the half, trailing by 3, but then just couldn't keep up with Western's quicker guards and trapping defense.

: : It's automatic for every 5A and 5AA semifinalists since division 5AAA is no longer in existence.

: Next year they'll be up probably a half division, doubt more than that with the type of schedule they played and their record the previous year. If they want to be successful in that division, they have to go out and play real teams during non league like the top 5AA teams do. Play against division 3 and 4 schools so that it won't be a shock when you run into good teams. 5A was the lowest competition level. If they end up in 4A (which I don't think they will), then they really need to get ready.

Unless the system is revised again, Oakwood will be in 4A even with the loss in the title game. Their 2-year total will be around 7-7.1 next year which was actually near the 4AA cut-off for this season (7.4).
