: : : When post season playoffs begin, do private schools play in a different bracket than public schools? Meaning, say a small D5A private school plays in CIF playoffs and they do well and advance and win their section. Do they eventually ever play any public schools who are also in D5A in the State Regionals? Thanks PS. IM not sure i asked the question the right way. Hope you understand my question, etc.

: : All you have to do is look at the bracket to get the answer to that since the playoffs began weeks ago. But, the answer is yes, private/public has no impact upon the placement of teams. When teams go to state playoffs, the A/AA disappears and they just play numbered divisions. Schools have also been known to be moved up in a division for state playoffs as well, not sure the criteria for that.

: CIF-SS brackets are here:

: State CIF playoff team selection and seeding criteria, can be found here (see specifically Page 6):

All semifinalists from 5AA and 5A make the state tournament, so Carpinteria, New Roads, Oakwood, Western Christian, Santa Clara, Hueneme, Bassett, and Sage Hill will all be in the tournament along with the City Finalists and Central Section Finalists and probably 3-4 teams from San Diego. San Diego looks weak and so will LA City if View Park doesn't move down.

15-16 teams from the South, not sure. About the same from the North.
