: : : : : : : : : Ok, so I think I've got this figured out but can somebody confirm for me?

: : : : : : : : : In Pool B it's real easy. The winner of Centennial-Sierra Canyon will win the pool. (If SC wins they are 3-0. If Centennial wins they will go even if MD wins because it's a 3 way tie for first and Centennial has the lowest combined seed points with 8 and SC will have 13 and MD will have 9)

: : : : : : : : : Looking at Pool A every team I believe still has a chance.

: : : : : : : : : If Rancho Christian and Montgomery win, Mongomery will go because they beat RC head to head. Yes, but not because they beat RC, but by points... 6 point for BM and 9 points for RC
: : : : : : : : : If RC and Etiwanda win, RC goes because they beat Etiwanda head to head. Yes per the point system RC-9 and ETW-12
: : : : : : : : : If Rancho Verde and Montgomery win, RV goes because they beat Montgomery head to head. NO, BM goes..point system RV-9 points and BM-6 points! BM goes on
: : : : : : : : : If RV and Etiwanda win, Etiwanda goes because they beat RV head to head. NO!, RV goes...point system RV-9 points and ETW-12 points

: : : : : : : : : Is that correct? Somewhat! half right

: : : : : : : : It's High School Playoffs and we come up with need tiebreakers and scenarios. How stupid is that? The simple concept for my simple minded fandom. Win, move on, loss, out. Until there is a final 2, championship game. How can we screw up something that simple?

: : : : : : : How can the top division in the country be a pool play format?!?! I get it for a one gym HS tournament during the season. All good. But the best HS tournament in the country. WAY OFF! Survive and advance! Tiebreakers...what a joke!

: : : : : : Itís all about the money for CIF. No matter what anyone says, itís about the cash.

: : : : : I think pool play is a great idea. It gives that team who may have a bad game and it accounts for bad seeding from the committee. I think it is a great concept in playoff seeding whereas I can see the best 2 teams will make it to the final game.
: : : : :
: : : : Awesome but was I right on scenarios???

: : :
: : : Somewhat! you are half right!

: : Lowest points wins!

: Actually in Pool A the point systems will not come into play because there can only be a 2 way tie...Considering that only 2 teams will win and lose on Friday creating only two 2-1 teams in the pool and the 2 way tie breaker is the head to head.

: Every team in pool A has a chance and no team fully controls their own destiny. Whoever wins on Friday must have the team they beat win in order to advance....

: If RC wins, they must have Etiwanda win (RC beat Etiwanda H2H)
: If RV wins, they must have BM win (RV beat BM H2H)
: If Etiwanda wins, they must have RV win (Etiwanda beat RV H2H)
: If BM wins, they must have RC win (BM beat RC H2H)

: Points are only used in a 3 way tie situation that could only happen in Pool B if Centennial and MD win. Creating three 2-1 teams in the pool. And Centennial would advance based on points Centennial - 8, MD - 9, SC - 13 as the original post stated.

--The CIF rule book clearly states that a gym must hold a minimum of 2,000 people to host an Open division game. Because of that, RC had to move their games, Centennial did as well. But, Sierra Canyon was able to play their first two games at home in a gym that was far under that requirement. Why did they get this special treatment? Was CIF "rewarded" for this approval?
