: : : : : : : : : : : Villa Park was up 31-0 after the 1st Q. Man, Foothill has really dropped off. VP vs Canyon on Thursday for the league title
: : : : : : : : : : I donít care how overmatched you are. 31-0 in a league game is awful. This guy is so in over his head. Has to go.
: : : : : : : : : :Maybe not ?
: : : : : : : : : He is available.
: : : : : : : He chose to leave because he couldn't get a job on campus, don't see that happening.
: : : : : : - that was reported by Steve Fryer as a reason for leaving. I do know that the previous coach has worked in private business for almost his entire career. After coaching at Mater Dei last year he returned to private business and has told coaching friends of mine that his job will allow the necessary time to coach as a walk on as he did during his time at Foothill. That doesnít mean he would return, but he has told those coaches he wants to return to being a head coach and is ok to do it as a walk on. I think a private school would be a better fit. Good luck to Foothill.
: : : : : I would like to see Rusty end up at Valencia.
: : : : Is Coach Yosh retiring at Valencia??
: : : Not that I am aware of BUT if the school wants to finally bring the boys basketball team to the limelight (incoming class in 2 to 3 years is going to be something special), Rusty will have time to develop and implement his system. Yosh just runs plays and does same thing over and over again, no adjustments. Not capable and plays politics over merit. I do know if he stays he will not get this cream of crop.
: : Not sure Valencia is getting the talent recently but Yosh has not helped matters. The game appears to have passed him by and their defensive philosophy is outdated and very predictable. He is good at yelling at the refs though and they all think he is a peach. Good luck to your crop.
: Yosh has to wait for final son of a particular family (I do not want to list the last name) which is a a senior this year so he should step down. Maybe one more miserable year for him. Come on Rusty, apply to Valencia. Great academic school with huge pool of talent. Yosh plays politics, Rusty plays merit.
Valencia is a good school with a solid athletic tradition. They get better athletes than most people understand. The other schools in the district are just ok basketball wise except Esperanzaís recent run and Coach Hill will probably only be around for a couple more seasons before retirement. I donít think Coach Van Cleave would go to Valencia, but I do think it is a school due for a change and with the right coach the school would be a consistent contender in the tough Emprie League.
