: : : : : : Calabasas beat Oaks Christian decisively last night to win their 4th straight Marmonte League championship (and 5th in the past 6 years).

: : : : : : Seniors Max Cheylov (reigning league MVP) and Evan McKay, with help from fab freshman Ramel Lloyd, have carried the Coyotes this season. Cheylov will probably repeat as MVP, and McKay and Lloyd should both be First Team Allstars. Congrats to these kids, all the rest of Calabasas' players and the coaching staff.

: : : : : When is Lloyd transferring to Sierra Canyon? Summer or before end of school year?

: : : : Yes, he's probably gone but that's ok. Just one player. Big issue in Marmonte League is coaching - some coaches have been there too long (Thousand Oaks) and some are just not very good (Newbury Park, Westlake). The boys deserve better coaching. Without changes, Calabasas will continue to win. They have the best coaches and attract the top area talent.

: : : : Calabasas is the only good program in the league. The league is going to need better coaching if it wants to compete with other top teams. The T.O. coach almost got let go last season but they did do somewhat better this season. The Westlake coach has got to be on thin ice as the program has only got worse since he took over. Oaks can't keep their talent although they do have the Miller kids who are young and pretty good. N.P. is loosing the best player in the league so the future doesn't look great there.

: : You are wrong about Westlake Coach, Kyle Kegley....he is an excellent coach, well prepared, and has gotten a lot out of a team with JV skill level, not to mention Kyle Maclean's injury. Look at his overall track record not only this one season.

: : Take #5 (athletic, double hold back) off of Calabasas and you would have teams with very average talent. What is the over/under for him staying at Calabasas for all four years?

: Well prepared. They haven't come close to beating us (Calabasas) in the 3 years he has been there. We have won by an average of around 20 pts per game. They have never finished higher then 3rd place. They do have poor talent this year and thats because they had multiple kids quit because of him. The last coach won and went much further in the playoffs and that just a fact. We are hoping Oaks continues to get talent that will help the league.
