: : : : : We done playin'. About to take a look at players who should be doing things and are not.
: : : : : New segment called
: : : : : 'Are you Polished?'
: : : : : popscoutbball.com
: : : :
: : : : You are going to potentially call out HIGH SCHOOL KIDS for not being as good as you think they should be? Wow.
: : : : You don't know what these kids are going through that may be a factor for them not living up to your high expectations.
: : : : Maybe they are hurt. Maybe they are struggling academically or socially. Maybe the coach has them play a position that doesn't highlight their skills. Maybe the coach doesn't like them. Maybe they are just burned out because their crazy parents are on them all the time.
: : : : The point is they are KIDS. You want to highlight the good things they do? Go ahead. I think it's great that you do (even if I don't agree with half of your evaluations).
: : : : You want to come on a public forum and trash KIDS? Sorry, no. That's other people's responsibility to be taken care of in a private setting.
: : : : Stop living on your high school team's success from decades ago. No one cares.
: : : Agree completely with the above the poster above. Leave the polishing to the coaches, Pop. I appreciate you shining a light on these kids by providing coverage, but calling out 15-16 year olds on their flaws should not be be included in your game. I've been a fan and grateful for your work, but I beg you to re-think this very bad idea.
: : When you put "We about family" and not we are, and then say Yo..you lost me. You want my money and you talk to me like I'm an inner city 14 year old.
: : Who are you marketing it to?
: Bro - Polish your English skills, your editing, your research and your approach to your product and maybe people will continue following you. Doing crazy shit that you thought up blazing the pipe - BAD IDEA!
Many coaches simply do not teach or emphasize fundamentals; if PopScout is offering constructive criticism, what is the problem with that? It'd be one thing if he said "#44 is good but would be better without those man boobs" or "#0 better be careful around air conditioning vents, needs to put on weight".
If his observations are easily correctable flaws such as body language or shortening the dribble when pressured (or not going behind the back in traffic), this could be a great idea. His arrogance can be off-putting, but don't write off PopScout.
