: : : Ah, got it, thanks!
: : : : : : Word is they are still going to be able to make the playoffs. Doesn't CIF have a rule that if you forfeit over 25% of your games, that you are ineligible for playoffs. Considering teams are allowed to only play 28 games, 11 games would obviously be more than 25% of their schedule.
: : : : : : : Used an inelgible player.....need to do a better job with their "academic scholarships"....aka recruiting....
: : The playoff rule reads as: To qualify for the playoffs a team must be an automatic qualifier, meaning they finish in the top 50% in their league. In this case they would need to finish no lower than 4th place in their league. They currently have 1 league win and are in a 7 team league. The second way in is as an at-large team. To qualify as an at-large team 2 things must occur: first the division has to have less than 32 automatic qualifiers, 2nd thing is an at-large team must have at least an overall record of .500.
: : So now we will see if the league will try and circumvent the league records qualification and if the cif committee will allow the league to do so.
: : : : : CIF has no such rule. Chino Hills forfeited almost half their games Lonzo’s junior year and still made playoffs.
: : : : That rule is a CIF-LA rule, not CIF-SS rule.
: The league will put them in as the #1 team.
They are in a 7 team league, which means they need to finish 4th but not sure how that league works because they clearly did not play everybody twice in leagues.
