: : I saw on Maxpreps that ND has already beat Crespi and Chaminade in tournaments. Why would they want to play league opponents already? Is this a snafu of the tournament organizer?

: : Whats the chances of ND going into league and self-destructing like last year?

: : Why are Mission League teams only playing each other once in league play? Seems a little odd that you don't get a Home and Away.

Thanks for the good info. Everything you said made complete sense.

I like that set-up for league. The conference tourney is FUN way to battle it out at the end and makes sense for the bottom dwellers.

Wish this was put into place in our league years ago. Was tough for some teams always taking 6 losses no matter what you did. 3 freaking OPEN Div teams in one league.....was a train wreck!!!!

Anyway, thanks for your input and insightful answers!
:
: 1. All three were in the Chaminade tournament and turned out to be 3 of the top 4 teams. Crespi always enters (coaches are best friends - last year's finals was Crespi vs Nade) but this is first year ND entered.

: 2. ND only fell apart in league play last year because Williams was hurt. Both him individually and ND as a team are considerably better this year. With HW battling injuries, if ND can stay healthy they could make a run for league title.

: 3. Teams only playing once now for several reasons - one being with less games this year, the lower teams were having trouble with .500 rule. So they each play once, and the top four teams play a "conference tourney" for seeding for automatic playoff berths. Or at least that was what I was told.
