: : : : : : : This scenario is factual. I wont name the schools.
: : : : : : : On Tuesday, Coach of Team A is informed that his opponent for the upcoming Friday was double booked. Coach of Team A searches for replacement and thru email n texts, agrees with Coach of Team B to a game. ADs confirm n contract gets sent @ 5pm. Team A then goes and plays a game and unfortunately 3 of their 8 players get hurt. Coach of Team A contacts Coach of Team B at 8pm (3hrs after contract) to inform him that they will not be able to play on Friday. Team B now wants to claim a forfeit W. I'd like to know if this is right or likely to be upheld/approved or just a Bush league move on the part of Team B to get a cheap, unearned W?
: : : : : : Unfortunate and sorry to hear that anyone was possibly injured however a Signed contract is a signed contract and the win loss box on that must be filled out to my knowledge. Im saying forfeit.
: : : : : I think Coach of team B needs to have an understanding that 3 of 8 players got hurt....If he only has 8 players and leaving him with 5 i would be more incline to cancel...if it 3 of his top 8 of a 14 man roster i'd like to still play the game if i needed the game....i don't know if i'd force the forfeit but team b probably did a solid for team a in scheduling the game....hate to burn a bridge if you don't absolutely have to
: : : : : Name the schools ....?
: : : If its true we can just look on Friday to see who got a forfeit win since there will probably only be that 1.
: : You should play the game with 5 players. 3 players getting hurt in one game is extremely unusual at best. Kinda of hard to believe and I do not!
: You could also bring up some of your top JV guys to sub rotate. Unless this is a small school there should be JV guys who can contribute.
