: : : : : : Lakers Starting Five for the Season.
: : : : : : Lonzo Ball
: : : : : : Josh Heart
: : : : : : Labron James
: : : : : : Kyle Kuzma
: : : : : : Javel McGee
: : : : : : Stick with this group the next 4 seasons and see where they go
: : : : : : Great Rookie Class of 2017 will go down in history for the Lakers.
: : : : : :Kuzma and Hart are simply better ,
: : : : That's definitely the best lineup, outscoring opponents 105.2-93.6 per 100 possessions in the 34 minutes they've played. The original starting five is ten points worse per 100 possessions.
: : : : I hate to say it, but this lineup probably gets changed the minute Ingram comes back. A Lakers reporter/blogger mentioned that BI is Luke's boy and is likely to start. If true, Brian Shaw will probably be the interim coach in a few weeks, as Ingram is an isolation player who doesn't run the floor like Kuzma, or spot up either. Only good reason to start Ingram is if he's getting traded.
: : : : Not Coach Waltons .
: : That's not what I'm hearing over on Lakersground! Reliable sources suggest both Luke and Rob, along with Magic, are all in on Ingram. Guess we find out Monday.
: I love the supposed Lakers fan that misspelled three Lakers names.
: And you are all crazy. Ingram is a better player than Kuzma. Kuzma doesn't play defense. Ingram is a two way player. Kuzma doesn't create shots for his teammates very often. Ingram is a playmaker as well as a scorer. Ingram actually had a higher 3p% last season than Kuzma. He is a good volume scorer, but let's not get carried away people. BI starting tonight, not even a question.
: Hart over KCP is pretty easy though.
: With that said, I can see the Lakers starting Ball, Ingram, James, Kuzma, and McGee all together.
Ingram's takes too few threes to be respected as a shooter, opponents will help off him when LeBron has the ball. Kuzma shoots a lower percentage, but until Ingram averages around 2 three point makes per game, the defense won't consider him a threat to catch and shoot.
This is why Kyrie hated playing with LeBron, two playmakers only work well together in the same lineup if at least one is proficient off ball (or the Warriors are just too injured/shorthanded as in 2016). Otherwise the two just take turns like Butler and Wiggins, (i.e. their stats are inversely proportional to the other).
LeBron and Ingram both prefer to cook their own meals on offense. In his minutes with LeBron, Ingram is one of the worst players on the team, next to KCP. Ingram only has appeared in 2 official games, but looked lost in preseason next to James as well, only taking over in second halves when LBJ sat. Lakers reporters are taking note.
Still, the Lakers should go with your lineup, as the season is a wash anyway. No playoff team can have straight-legged Ingram guarding smaller guys on the perimeter. Ingram had to give Buddy Hield a cushion just to stay in front of him (Hield promptly drained the three). He was fouling jumpshooters all preseason.
With both starting, the Lakers can blame the losses on bad defense and lack of chemistry, while Kuzma and Ingram get concession buckets in games that aren't as intense or hard fought. Their trade value is boosted, and LeBron doesn't have to add mileage to his body if he's coasting on a lottery team. Trust the process!
