: : : First, I am all for transfers. I think that a family reserves the right to leave a school if they find out that it isn't a good fit. That bad fit might be sports. So what. They should be able to go somewhere new without penalty.
: : : But in the past week Penberthy, who was at Village Chr and then Santa Clarita Chr is now transferring to Hart HS, Ben Todd who was at Faith Baptist and then Birmingham is rumored to be headed to Village Chr.
: : : Why are they transferring? What hoop dream is being chased in these cases? There isn't any weaker competition than what Santa Clarita Chr plays. If you can't cut that, with a coach who's part of the Masters College Mafia with dad, why leave? I've never seen Todd play. When I ask around I hear, "Well... he's 6'10." But no coach that I've mentioned him to would take him. So why not stay at Birmingham where the coach wants you instead of possibly going to Village aka Meth Lab where careers die.
: : : As I type this, it looks like there's kids at Taft thinking about transferring. Where are you going and why?
: : Ben Todd's agent is hurting him. Yup. Agent. There's a guy who acts as his agent for years & he wants Ben to be a point forward instead of letting the kid be himself. If Ben's not the man on the team, even when he doesn't deserve it, the agent moves him. I heard that they left Birmingham because the Malibu transfers took some shine. It's unfair to the kid that this guy is ruining what should be good time in high school.
: : Ty Penberthy's younger brother will be solid. He has a legit shot at playing D3-D2 ball. Hart has a good program with a system fits Ty's game. He'll come off the bench, spot up, play defense. But he should've stayed at Village when everybody left. That was his chance to get playing time.
: : Makani Whiteside is looking smart for leaving Taft.
: : But why did Diggy leave Crenshaw for Taft? To average 8pts & lose a ton?
: : Freemont might get a wing transfer. I think that they'll be good for the next 3 years.
: The Birmingham Kid is being led by the Blind. Is He afraid of real competition via he sit out vs ND(Zaire D1) top kid in area in 2020 class. And now Birmingham vs West Ranch on Sat and Santa Margarita (3 D1) on Sunday. All with guys his size not to mention they have a tough tournament schedule. Pac shores, Tarkanian, Damien
: A perfect fit for a kid that hasn't played in a year and needs to develop with Talent around him.
