: : : : If Dasca was that good, he would not be
: : : : playing at Costa Mesa!!!
: : : :What an ignorant comment - smh
: : Nico Dasca is really good, and has been for all 4 years. Good competitor, has become a very good shooter, pretty good floor manager and does a great job setting up Hefner (great shooter with deep range).. the problem is they've had a revolving door at head coach, they had decent size his FR year but it's been basically him and Herzog for the last 2 years.
: : As for the ignorant comment about "If he were that good..." He's not a D1 caliber player (too small, not quite quick enough), so if he's not a D1 player anyway, what's wrong with just going to the school you're supposed to go to and enjoy four years with your friends? Geez, what a concept! Then you play AAU in July, play well enough to get some looks and then go play D2 or NAIA..
: Some kids play D-1, some D-2,Some D-3,some Junior College, some Prep! He will play after High School and this is the 5 percent of High School Basketball Players! Congrats for being a great Student/Athlete and playing in College.
A great high school player doesn't necessarily translate to a D1 player, just like a number 1 pick doesn't translate to a good pro player. There are great college players that aren't good pros. You can be first team at the level you are playing but not be great at the next level whatever that level is. But fortunately it's the award for what you are doing now not who thinks you can play college basketball.
