: : : : It's disturbing to see all of these teams that are dropping from tournaments or cancelling games mid tournament. Programs have 30-45 kids , you only need 5 to play. What happened to showing up with what you have, this "try to be .500" for an at large is getting to be a little much. It's ruining scheduling, chances for other kids to play and its ridiculous. Bring up a couple JV guys, injuries and sickness are part of the season. Show up with what you have and see what happens. Sorry if your two kids you brought in aren't available and you will probably take an L. Just play the game...... probably the same coach that will bench a kid for missing practice for lack of commitment.

: : : The host schools just need to make sure they get contracts ahead of time like they are supposed to and hand out forfeits for teams that pull out when its last minute.

: : Agree 100%. Illness and injury are part of the game. You only need 5 to play.

: That's why CIF needs to drop the .500 requirement for at large. Or just stop testing for f***ing COVID.

Agreed with many on this. Unfortunately contracts mean virtually nothing. I am not sure if it's Covid right now. I think because of the flexibility during the Covid year(s) coaches feel they can cancel for any reason these days. Honor your schedule, your opponent and your team and show up and play!
