: : : There is a lot of chatter on this board about teams and their transfers, legal or not. What teams/ coaches do the best job coaching THEIR kids-NO transfers just neighborhood kids from their feeder schools and not getting involved with the whole recruiting scene.
: : Good point. Most kids want to play on stacked teams just to wear a uniform. The kids that stay local and keep working to develop their game are rare to find now. If the player is good, colleges will find them. A school in north oc, not known for being a basketball powerhouse, has an incoming junior that has many D2, D3 and NAIA colleges interested in him. I have seen the emails and communication. Continuous hard work pays off. The other reason why he is getting many looks, most important he is a straight A student all his life!
: : I see a lot of these transfer kids end up playing in junior college. They forgot about the school work!
Don't know if they "forgot about school work" as much as they want to continue their career, they went to a talent collector school or 3 and didn't develop but just masked their weaknesses by being around more talent. Which makes JC the only level they can compete at to continue their career that the parents pumped thousands of dollars into travel ball and showcases.
