: : : : : Hello all, we recently moved to the Azuza and were looking for a boys club for my sons. We were told by a family wearing an IBA t shirt to go and try it out.
: : : : : We spoke to the director and he seemed very happy to have us there and liked my sonís skills. We met the coaches and they were not basketball coaches they were basketball parents and had no idea of concepts or xís and oís.
: : : : : Good concept and good idea but not for a basketball club that you pay a large amount from the start. Social club without the basketball, maybe?
: : : : : Thank you and excuse my rant,
: : : : : Eddie
: : : : So Eddie, where you taking your son
: : :
: : : Probably stay local and have them play Rec ball. Do you have any suggestions other than the POS team with three letters I wrote about?
: : whats the age
: If I was Eddie i wouldnít look at any team from Covina. I would look for an established team from Orange County or inland Empire. Why have your kid on a team that doesnít help him develop? You could spend a couple of years at one of these smaller clubs because itís either close to your home or just convenient because of where they practice and you may stunt his growth just because he doesnít have the proper coaching?
: Sorry to be a downer but, Iíve been there and done that.
Lots of fluff out there. Repetition but no development.
