: : : : : : : : : : : It looks like parents are seeing that private schools doesn't make sen$e in the grand scheme. There are a lot of transfers from private to public that will change programs.

: : : : : : : : : : : St Francis - Jovan Jones, who's a starting wing & legitimate D2 player, left St Francis & heading to Pasadena HS. This is tough for St Francis since Jones was 1 of their top 2 players. St. Francis might finish last in league.

: : : : : : : : : : : Pasadena - has a brand new backcourt with Jones (formerly St.Francis/Village) & Richards (formerly Village/Cathedral). I heard that Richards is solid. He was just at bad programs. Pasadena is going to be tough to beat... again.

: : : : : : : : : : : Crespi - lost a big in Tai. He's transferring to ECR. I think that this is a big blow. Crespi is not talent laden & with an average backcourt has to rely on their bigs next season. Losing one hurts.

: : : : : : : : : : : Birmingham - 4 transfers from private schools. All 4 were starters at their previous schools.

: : : : : : : : : : : Valencia - rumor is that Valencia might be getting a big from a school in the Mission league & a wing from Heritage Chr. That's just rumor so I won't name names. But if it happens then Valencia, if the coaching is solid, would be one of the better teams in the area.

: : : : : : : : : : Not true- Birminghams transfers- 1 played half the season in weakest league, 2 started on JV!!, and the other didnt play.

: : : : : : : : : You're right. But weren't the 2 jv kids moved varsity? Ben Todd got hurt but still started. The league might be weak but he still started. Jack Pollon praises Elliot from St. Gen. Didn't get start?
: : : : : : : : : Do think that they won't make Birmingham better?

: : : : : : : : True about Todd. Elliot ended up playing JV, no varsity. As for Jack, you can come to your own conclusions as to why he writes about him. Alemany transfer was a JV player last year as a sophomore. They will help them be better compared to what they were left with after they graduated their top senior and the 7fter but dont think they will be much better than last year if at all.

: : : : : : : Pasadena is the one that improved. A lot of people are surprised that he left St. Francis. But Pasadena is a good academic school & basketball team is better. Birmingham has an average to below average local high school team. Nothing to write about but nothing to insult. Really, programs should only be insulted if the coaches, ad or other adults act up.

: : : : : : Didnt the kid from Duarte also go to Pasadena? Not sure how much of an impact he will make with these other guys who are probably a notch above him

: : : : : What kid from Duarte? Dutch and Jovan are guarantee starters and shot pullers. The other kids better get theirs off the rebound.
: : : : : How is El Camino Real looking this year?
: : : : : The mission league isn't the best league in socal despite what people say. Harvard Westlake is top notch. Chaminade's young backcourt is cool. But the best league is Del Rey. Those school have managed to keep their kids & get some good ones in.
: : : : Birmingham Beat Crespi at Home in their own tournament. Elliott had 18pts 4 asst 4 steals. 19pts and 5 asst vs luezinger (armound elite 100 kid). Also named 1 of 10 best players to have the best summer. Per LA TIMES. He avg. 12pts 4 asst Spring/ Summer playing Team Why Not EYBL. ST. GEN Won 3rd @ Torrey Pines with him and won 5 games Heritage, Bell Jeff 2x,St.monica and Poly all year without him. Coaching staff was FIRED at end of Season. Avg.27pts during league games at St.Gen for JV. Played Varsity non conference.

: : Crespi doesn't have anybody besides Owens. So beating Crespi doesn't mean anything.
: : The kid played jv for St. Gen and St. Gen was not good. The kid did improve since but it's relative if we're talking about goon good or local aight. He's not goon good. Nobody at Birmingham is. Normally I wouldn't have said it like that but your all caps message leads me to believe that you're implying that Birmingham is going to be a force out here. They'll still be around 500.
: .500 got them 1 game from Division 2 state championship. They still made Open division Crossroads beat them by 4.
: Birmingham will be young and competitive.
: By league play they will be ready. There isn't a clear favorite in West Valley league..

6-4 and coin flip luck maybe good enough to win that league
