: : : : : It looks like parents are seeing that private schools doesn't make sen$e in the grand scheme. There are a lot of transfers from private to public that will change programs.
: : : : : St Francis - Jovan Jones, who's a starting wing & legitimate D2 player, left St Francis & heading to Pasadena HS. This is tough for St Francis since Jones was 1 of their top 2 players. St. Francis might finish last in league.
: : : : : Pasadena - has a brand new backcourt with Jones (formerly St.Francis/Village) & Richards (formerly Village/Cathedral). I heard that Richards is solid. He was just at bad programs. Pasadena is going to be tough to beat... again.
: : : : : Crespi - lost a big in Tai. He's transferring to ECR. I think that this is a big blow. Crespi is not talent laden & with an average backcourt has to rely on their bigs next season. Losing one hurts.
: : : : : Birmingham - 4 transfers from private schools. All 4 were starters at their previous schools.
: : : : : Valencia - rumor is that Valencia might be getting a big from a school in the Mission league & a wing from Heritage Chr. That's just rumor so I won't name names. But if it happens then Valencia, if the coaching is solid, would be one of the better teams in the area.
: : : : Not true- Birminghams transfers- 1 played half the season in weakest league, 2 started on JV!!, and the other didnt play.
: : : You're right. But weren't the 2 jv kids moved varsity? Ben Todd got hurt but still started. The league might be weak but he still started. Jack Pollon praises Elliot from St. Gen. Didn't get start?
: : : Do think that they won't make Birmingham better?
: : True about Todd. Elliot ended up playing JV, no varsity. As for Jack, you can come to your own conclusions as to why he writes about him. Alemany transfer was a JV player last year as a sophomore. They will help them be better compared to what they were left with after they graduated their top senior and the 7fter but dont think they will be much better than last year if at all.
: Pasadena is the one that improved. A lot of people are surprised that he left St. Francis. But Pasadena is a good academic school & basketball team is better. Birmingham has an average to below average local high school team. Nothing to write about but nothing to insult. Really, programs should only be insulted if the coaches, ad or other adults act up.
Didnt the kid from Duarte also go to Pasadena? Not sure how much of an impact he will make with these other guys who are probably a notch above him
