: : Looking for coaches to start having kids triple threat when they catch the basketball. It's getting pathetic seeing kids catch the ball then look around with no purpose, ball in one hand and no structure behind what their program does. Piss-poor grassroots player development. If you are just about making money off of kids then cool but please bring in someone who knows the game because it makes your program look like crap when real ballers can pin point shit that should be part of your foundational training and standard operating procedure for players.
: Get your butt down, bend the knees, bend the elbows, tuck the ball behind the ear and rip as you pivot- play with your CHIN up.. If you're chin is up, your eyes will be up- therefore you can see open cutters or extra defenders coming to trap. It's not that hard to teach- but a lot of guys won't teach it because players don't like the fundamentals..
While I agree that players need to learn to be strong with the ball. You also need to teach how to read the game before you get the ball. The game has changed to shoot or go, attack the gaps and create help to kick or dump or finish at the basket. When running a continuity offense late in the game or looking for a real good possession, then triple threat (being strong with the ball) is a must.
