: : : Now that Yosh finally stepped down, I hope the school picks up a good coach to lead the school to first CIF Championship.

: : : Merit over politics.

: : Who are some good candidates? Anyone from the current staff?

: They need to think outside of school pool. Incoming freshmen class looks solid with high potential and in a couple of years this program could start to become an annual powerhouse in OC. Biggest concern is lack of height. Too many 6' and under players. Natural 2 position players that are taller are forced to play the 4 and 5 position spots. That is a problem. The ball hog short guys just want to shoot versus doing their primary job to find the shooters and distribute. A good coach will keep balanced scales to not allow this to happen. Personally I can't wait to see a 5'6" cover a 6'3" guy in the low post.

First off, the first post is ridiculous. Dean Yoshimura is one the most respected coaches around. His teams are solid every year. He has won many League Championships, Playoff wins, and always done it with local kids and class. Excellent defensive team and ball movement. Excellent Coach. You act like this program sucked and lost all the time, when the opposite was true.
Best of luck Dean in whatever you do. You will be missed at Valencia and the coaching world.
By the way, just to stick it to you haters, his assistant got the job. Sorry to burst your bubble.
