: : : : : : : CIF Needs to be investigated, and the swamp needs to be cleaned out....
: : : : : :
: : : : : : These brackets are a joke
: : : : : There is no rhyme or reason to any of these brackets. Teams jumping up 2-3 divisions, teams going down 1-2 divisions, teams getting byes who shouldn’t get them....I mean it literally makes no sense.
: : : : CIF has always played favors
: : : What is even weaker is the private schools with their connected rosters playing in section divisions against public schools. So you got moved up for state - instead of bringing in 5 or six foreign players next year get a whole new squad. You don’t get to be on the Open Division watchlist all year and stay in D4 and other examples.
: : Write your representatives, Government it's an election year.
: : Drain the swamp....
: The State CIF isn't some appointed or government elected body. It's composed of representatives of the various CIF Sections. Who "elects" the CIF Section representatives? Each Section does. And who elects/appoints the local CIF Section leadership? The member shools, that's who.
: When are you people going to realize that there never will be any "cleaning out" of the CIF. The CIF consists of the member schools and it's a self-governing organization.
: You want to change things? Talk to your school's athletic director, to the principal of the school and have the principal support a change in format resolution at the next CIF Section meeting.
: You guys are just hilarious. Really....
Southern should split up public and private, and let Public schools compete in an expanded City Section tournament. Then combine the two sections into one after the sectional Finals, instead of having a state tournament. Less travel = More fan participation. Long bus rides suck anyway.
Why do we need the rest of the state? Our current State Open Division participants could partner up with AZ, NV, and TX for a Southwest Regional Championship. I'm sure at least one shoe company would sponsor the travel. We could even do the same with Football.
