: As another former private school coach, my reaction of the CIF placing private into their own divisions, is that I would immediately support the creation of a private section of our own and with that move comes:
: 1. The opportunity to create partnerships with companies to allow the new Private Athletic Association to brand itself with television exposure, an active social media campaign and the creation of multiple “private only” events.
: 2. The opportunity to hoist multiple “college combines” in each sport for greater opportunities for student athletes.
: 3. Elimination of CIF’s regulations limiting completion against prep schools and the number of out-of-state contests schools are allowed to schedule.
: 4. More strict regulations relating to academic performance of the athletes - assure that each student-athlete meets NCAA entry standards.
: 5. A relaxed approach to transfers from outside the public sector but impose a strict penalty for transfers within the private sector.

: Bring it on!
- Good post, very ambitious, & in some ways what the elite privates are doing right now. (Excluding the transfers) I think the partnerships wouldn’t be as lucrative as you think. The likely partners are already broadcasting the games. If by combines, you could reduce the need for the outside club programs - that would be a big benefit to the school and the athlete in the long run. Limiting an individuals right to transfer is only as good as the lawyer you have to defend your policy. Being a private entity helps, but individuals rights seem to carry a lot of weight in elective choices these days.
