: I can see both of your sides on the matter. On one side, I get Oakwood has had a nice year and should be happy and content with the results so far. However, on the other end, according to Maxpreps, Oakwood's strength of schedule is very low. Looking over their schedule, except for a
: few games (Bonita, Campbell Hall, and West Ranch), Oakwood has had it pretty easy. Most great programs would have challenged themselves significantly more. Yes, Oakwood can't do anything about their league being weak. However, Oakwood still has the ability to create a tougher schedule. It is not very hard to find tournaments with quality opponents or schedule nonleague games with tough opponents. Oakwood is a solid team and will probably do well in the D4 playoffs. But, praising or gloating on here about them might not be the best decision. Not only does it bring out the critics (which they do have the right, of course, to nitpick), but most other teams' fans are not bragging about their team on this forum, either.
: : : : Shout out to the Oakwood Gorillas who finished the season at 21-3 - conference champs 7-0 - looking good in D4 as they prepare for the upcoming Southern Sectionals. Good luck!
: : : Cmon man......all their wins are against teams with .500 record and they played in the "Charmin League". Great record but cmon coach - actually challenge your team and see what their made of. Playing cream puffs all season doesn't help you prepare for playoffs.
: : Your jealousy and dislike of Oakwood has been evident for months. The only "doo-doo" are your snide and sarcastic comments. Oakwood played who they played - its their conference. Who would you suggest they play, Sierra Canyon? Be real, they are 21-3 - and they are favorites to win southern section - and when they do, will you finally shut up?
No one went overboard praising Oakwood. All that was said was congratulations on going 21-3 and good luck in the playoffs. If this isnt the place to discuss a teams success, what is? Oakwood was tied with Campbell Hall at CH in game 1 - with 5 minutes left in the game. The other 2 losses were close games against good teams. Oakwood has one of the Best Big players in the Valley - Aiden Oliver - who is averaging 30+ a game. Anyone can post messages about high school basketball on this site. Anyone can praise their team. Oakwood is going to win the 4A title this year. Thats my prediction. In order to do that, they will have to beat some very good teams. Win or lose, they have played team basketball all season. I wish them good luck as they move forward.
